Mayoral candidate debate video on the way
The League of Women Voters moderated a Mayoral Candidate Debate at the Lion's Hall on Lackland Road on Wednesday July 11th, 2007 from 7:00PM to 8:30PM. Councilperson Keller (Ward 3) was not in attendance.
Councilpersons Conlon and Schneider both attended also with a huge standing room only crowd. The crowd was well behaved enough that the moderator lost almost no time to chastising them (or the candidates).
We would like to thank all those involved in the debate for giving us the opportunity to "tape" the event once again. Currently we are converting the video and uploading it to present in it's entirety as soon as possible.

The Candidate Debate went well. Unfortunately Councilperson Keller was not there. She was too ill to make Monday's Council meeting and rumor has it she never contacted any about whether or not she would be at the Debate.
I hope this illness is not something serious. I've tried to contact her for the last couple of days to no avail and she has missed a meeting and now a campaign event. I am concerned that this illness could be something serious.
Hopefully, she we be well soon.
Perhaps I’m being presumptuous, but I think Keller has the age old illness of “cold feet”. I think Keller is in over her head, running for mayor. It’s a bit premature for her to be in this mayoral race. From observing Keller at the council meetings and workshops, she appears inexperienced about the fundamentals of city business. Maybe over the course of her term as Councilwoman, she will get the gist of it.
New Girl,
By not showing up last night, I would venture to say she's already gotten the gist she doesn't belong in the race.
Amen..one-twolayer...Amen
I updated this post to avoid confusion since the debate is over.
The sloooooooooooow process of uploading the video began several hours ago, but, if the status bar is accurate, it has a long way to go and I'm beat. Assuming it uploads successfully while I reacquaint myself with my pillow I will post it sometime tomorrow.
I emailed a critique of my impression of the 'debate' to the editor of this publication. It has not appeared so I suspect that it was not approved for publication. That is okay, I have been rejected by the New Yorker Magazine by handwritten critique. I hope that everyone votes and it doesn't matter who for.. just do your duty and cast your vote. I still am not sure which way to go. Just have to keep reading info and digesting it until a logical answer is made.
Rest assured that not including your critique had nothing to do with its content.
When it comes to events like the debate I always present them in a neutral format without comments enabled so that people can draw their own conclusions.
Could this be a gamble of genius? The 2 major players split the vote and "here we go again"?
