Positive Coverage of Overland Online
It has become so rare these days some of us have begun to think it a myth. However, positive coverage of Overland, Missouri still happens. You all probably remember Norm Parish's recent article about Martin Bergin called "I love being a cowboy".
Now we have "Overland, MO Mid-Century Modern", a nice article about the Architecture to be found in our great city.
From the linked article:
"Overland retains so much of its original fabric that it often feels like touring a museum of post-World War 2 Baby Boom suburban expansion. Yet the place is alive, feisty and curious in a low-key manner, which keeps it off the hipsters and aggressive developers radars."
For the most part this article is a look at Overland through the eyes of someone who loves our old town feel and is obviously full of optimism. This is a must read.
What's your favorite part of Overland?

Thank you for linking that piece. I loved it. Do you know when they did this?
The post on that site is dated the 15th of February. However, some of the information in it is out of date. Maybe she was through town awhile ago and only recently had the time or inclination to write it up and post it.
I love it that you can go down a street and see so many different styles, shapes & sizes of homes.
Overland is a wonderful place to live. I've lived in many places in my life. Large cities, small cities, high income suburbs, and low income neighborhoods. Each place has it's own unique character which can be both good and bad.
Overland is a personal favorite. When you look at everything here you really can't beat it. Great location, friendly neighbors, unique busnesses, fun local events, active civic organizations, nice parks, quality schools and a wonderful old town feel everywhere you look. You can't beat what you get in Overland at the low cost of living we have here.
The one exception is city politics. Though it's the worst it has every been (with elected officials regularly ignoring the law), politics in Overland has had it's issues for a long time.
In April we'll be cleaning house in Overland. Politicians who think the law does not apply to them will be applying for employment elsewhere.
Will that solve all of Overland's political issues? I doubt it, but it'll be a huge step in the right direction.
I hope all those working to improve Overland government now, will be just as active after April. I know I will be.
Well Done! tour of Overlands finer old spots.
