Under Construction

------------------------ Under Construction ------------------------

The Overland Examiner is undergoing a major redesign. Though this project has been well underway, recent conceptual changes have resulted in needing to go back nearly to the beginning. As a result, we'll be focusing on the new site at the expense of this site I'm afraid.

Keep an eye out for us. When the new site is online I believe everyone will be pleasantly surprised.

Stay with us Sailor! Overland needs someone who is level-headed in the months before the April election.

PLease don't abandon us. We need you for your fair and reliable reporting. We appreciate the opportunity to exchange ideas and to keep up with Overland events. If I have been petty in any blogging, I am sorry for it. It is tempting when angry to blow off steam by venting in a blog.
I am delighted that the Examiner is not gone forever. I will pledge to "keep to the high road" and supress my anger rather than to abuse your site. I have felt such pride in being able to invite others to turn to the Overland Examiner for an accurate account of the Overland fall from democracy and the attempts to restore it.

I know that we have no right to demand your time and your talent, but we have learned to rely on it. Please forgive us and give us another chance. We are going to be in a long, hard battle to restore integrity in our city, through and beyond the next elections

You are missed by many who hope you will reappear among us. Please come back!

Folks, please don't think the extended down time here has anything to do with anyone who took the time to visit and view the articles posted. Nothing could be further from the truth.

When I started this site I had an idea of what I wanted it to be. In some respects I achieved that, but in others I fell short. Along the way I learned some things about how Blogging and a host of other things online work (and don't). I also learned a bit about myself.

It is that personal learning that is driving the changes to come here. Will it be better than before? That's the plan, but we will have to wait and see.

My class schedule became surprisingly intense this Winter semester. As a result I am not sure how much time I will have to develop to this project in January. However, I do hope to have the new project up ASAP. I will be taking much of what I learned in my classes as well as my experimentation with various software platforms and trying to create something fresh that is actually useful and entertaining for most people.

When this will come online and what it will be when it does is still to be determined.

Changes Continue. The site has a bit less sidebar content but it all makes a lot more sense now. :-)
